Isle de Glennan to Belle Isle

We had a great sail from Concarneau over to the islands. 18 kn of wind and we were travelling at 8.5 kn.

Close hauled.

The islands are described as being as close to the Caribbean on this side of the Atlantic. The look is very similar to the Isles of Scilly as well.

Caribbean like archipelago

Sunset on our bouy
As soon as the sun rose we were off to Belle Isle

There was barely any wind today so we motored 45 miles south to the main harbour on Belle Isle – Le Palais

We were accompanied by many dolphins along the way.

Le Palais!

We arrived early and had to anchor off until the height of the tide was sufficient for us to pass over a cill to the inner basin.

What awaited was perhaps the most wonderful town basin I have ever stayed in.

Just opposite our berth.

Off to aisle D’yeu tomorrow at dawn to pass the cill!

That looks like the perfect day. Great sailing.
