After our sail from Arrecife we settled into PDC as it’s known.

We were planning to anchor overnight. The winds stayed at 20 knots so we anchored in Playa Papagayo tucked beneath the hills. The anchor is unfortunately tucked under a rock (I dived to it to check as Pete thought it was bent!), so will be interesting get it back tomorrow. At least we won’t slip tonight!

They don’t have homemade fish curry though 😋.

We now take the boat to Rubicon Marina were we leave her until November, when the journey continues.
Our journey has been about 4000km and touched a number of countries and we have met some wonderful people en route. We have been welcomed everywhere and I feel touched by the kindness of strangers.
I do hope you’ve enjoyed our posts – I know sometimes more about food maybe than sailing, but a hungry sailor is not some one you want to spend too much time with. The sailing has been great though. We avoided the Orcas through great fortune. We have visited some beautiful places, with my highlight being Belle Isle, somewhere I would love to revisit. We had minimal boat breakages, no injuries, only a few raised voices and made new and strengthened old friendships. Many thanks to Pete, Rich, Paul, Andy and John who helped deliver Carioca safely to the terminus of leg one.
Follow us in November…across the pond.
