We were woken at 11pm last night by an all girl crew wanting to raft up to us.
I had to explain that we would be leaving at 5 or 6 am and they changed their minds😄. They explained that they wanted to raft to us as the boat was “tres chic”!
We slipped our lines at 05:45. It was pitch black and very windy. Sunrise here is not until 07:20 which suprised us. Our ARC flag had slipped its line and wrapped around the VHF aerial, but Neptune looked kindly upon us and we were able to unhook it without too much drama. We had to have 3 of us constantly checking the bouyage on the way out. We counted 4 lighthouses giving guidance! Then there were kamikaze fishing vessels all around.
The French lighthouses are fabulous.

As the sun rose we had a lovely sail towards Concarneau. We dug out all of our fishing gear. 2 rods and a hand reel
.

The French certainly seem to have more boats than we have in the U.K. – not sure if that’s true, but it looks that way. We were overtaken by one of their madly fast foiling trimarans.

We arrived in Concarneau at 6pm.
A fabulous day on the water. We were given a great berth under the castle ramparts and tucked into our local cider (some KP nuts) then our freshly caught mackerel which was very special.
