Isle D’yeu to La Rochelle

Dinner of pheasant crumble (One of Mrs R’s best dishes👍), followed by bananas and custard! We might have gone slightly over the top with provisioning 16 L of custard🤣

Andy won with 2 pieces of lead shot!

Isle D’yeu is a beautiful forested island. Different from anything we’ve seen so far. It’s noteworthy that we haven’t seen a single English yacht nor tourist since we left Plymouth. Whether that is Brexit it’s hard to tell, but I am surprised.

Watched over by a hungry seagul.
Another day – another beautiful sunrise
And some interesting mackerel like fish – anyone know what these are?

Look away now if you don’t like to see a fish being filleted!

There were a lot of fish about today!

Sadly we’ve had an electrical failure. The boat has a very sophisticated power management system which tells me I have a system error.

We have 4 lever arch files of manuals for all systems on board, but not for the MCU Combi Ultra! Luckily, we were close enough to shore to allow me to download the manual off the Internet. That didn’t help though, as it merely told me that there was a communication error between the inverter and one of the components. I’ve done a manual check on all cables, and cannot find anything wrong, so have called the Mastervolt La Rochelle who have promised to come late this evening or tomorrow morning to check it out. Without the inverter, we have no 240 V appliances offshore, such as our hot water quooker tap or our toaster. We will survive!

We travelled alongside Isle de Re connected by a 30m high bridge.
We have a 22m mast. Still scary!

We passed the most beautiful sailing vessel

Hard to beat this entrance to a Marina!

We are now berthed in a very hot and humid Marina. Off to Andres. More to follow!
