And we’re off across Biscay!

We have just finished the repairs. Refuelled and filled the water tanks. Sourdough is in the oven, mackerel has been converted into Patè. Sadly we cannot find horseradish, so we have instead used wasabi and it works well!

We need to leave tonight, as a very low pressure system is heading our way and we don’t want to get involved in it.

This hits A Corunia on Sunday.

So we will need to keep a constant speed of 6 knots, sail or engine, to avoid any upset. Our friend John will be keeping an eye on the system (a strong gale) and if it speeds up will advise us by satellite phone, so that we can dip south and shelter in any of the N Spanish ports or harbours.

So will update when we make landfall in Spain 🇪🇸. In the words of Boris Johnson – hasta la vista – baby!

Wow, what an adventure Peter. Good luck with next stage and hope you avoid the storm. David is still trying to reply via comments but we are both loving your posts.

The best of luck to you all – a bit of a breeze will be good practice for later on!

What a lovely boat the Buckaneer was. Very like mine inside but quite different sail plan and keel configuration. A real world mile muncher! X
